Senior Planner
Kāhu Environmental are dedicated to creating a future where sustainability is the norm, the environment comes first and Māori partnerships are honoured. We’re totally committed to providing a flexible and happy workplace where people have the chance to thrive, and our people get to work on projects they love. If making a real difference for the environment and future generations spins your wheels, we’d love to chat. Meet the team and check out some of our projects. What do we do? We’re planners, ecologists, kaupapa taiao specialists and communicators. We work alongside councils, iwi, central government, NGOs and private clients. We work on a wide variety of cool stuff such as freshwater management, iwi environmental plans, environmental improvement projects, plan changes and resource consents. We provide effective and useful advice to our clients, so our knowledge and expertise is absolutely critical. Our reputation hinges on the quality of work that goes out the door, so everything we do must be thoughtful, accurate and professional, but above all else, it must be honest. We’re looking for a senior, or possibly intermediate planner, so you’ll have a few years of experience and know your way around RMA legislation and policy. You can nail consent applications and plan changes without breaking a sweat, and you’re a whizz at giving technical advice to broad audiences. At the senior level, you’ll need to be comfortable with preparing evidence and reviewing other people’s work. We have plenty of interesting work on, so we’re after someone who can get stuck in straight away. You will also have the following core skills:
What do we offer? Flexible, full- or part-time hours, and the option to work from home or the office for the right person.
Where are we? Our main offices are in South Wairarapa and Taupō, and we also have a small one in Palmerston North. Team members work from home in other regions. It would be great if you were able to work in one of our offices, but if that’s not possible we can discuss options. If you'd like to know more, call David Ross (Chief Executive / Kaiwhakahaere) on 021 289 0789 for a confidential chat. If you're ready to apply, email your CV, a cover letter and any examples of your work you are able to provide to David at info@kahuenviro.co.nz |
